  • Julie Hanlon

    DVM

    Dr. Julie Hanlon graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She returned to Alaska and began working at Four Paws Animal Hospital. When VCA merged with Four Paws and built a new clinic in 2003 Dr. Hanlon joined the VCA team. Dr. Hanlon's interests include internal medicine, oncology and emergency medicine. She lives with her husband, Stewart, two dogs Holly and Sitka, and four cats Pita, Stinky, Simba and Rudy. In her free time she likes camping, hiking, swimming, traveling and going to ACES hockey games.

  • Kathryn Martell

    DVM

    Dr. Kathryn Martell graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She moved to Alaska and joined VCA Eagle River in 2000, becoming Medical Director in 2001. She enjoys internal medicine cases, especially Oncology and Endocrinology. She also has a strong interest in endoscopy and ultrasound. When not at work, Dr. Martell enjoys snow skiing, scuba diving, gardening and traveling the world with her husband, Jay, and daughter, Camille. She has a yellow lab, a geriatric cat, 2 guinea pigs, and 3 Blue Orpington hens.

  • Michael Harlow

    DVM

    Originally from Mississippi, Dr. Harlow returned to his home state after serving in the Army for 6 years. He earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences with honors from the University of Southern Mississippi. After graduating from Mississippi Sate College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Harlow moved to Alaska to join our team in 2013. He has a special interest in exotic animal medicine and was President of the Wildlife, Exotic, Zoo, Avian and Aquatic Association at Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Harlow's love the mountains brought him to Alaska. He enjoys hiking, fishing and enjoying the outdoors with his wife, Stacy, their son, Steven, and their 2 rat terriers. He is also an avid runner.
